The one-day UMA Seminar will take place on 17 Nov 2008 at the Hilton on the Park in Melbourne, followed by a UMA Dinner at Geppetto Trattoria in East Melbourne.
This seminar will be a pre-conference seminar to the 6th Metering Billing/CRM Australia /New Zealand 2008 conference, taking place on 18-20 November at the same venue. More info at www.metering-ausnz.com
This year’s annual seminar comprises 2 main areas namely:
- AIMRO and energy consumption – aspects of consumer behaviour
- The role of AMI in revenue management
For the AIMRO topic, we will invite a panel of speakers to hold an interactive discussion and explore the following:
- The primary benefit of smart meters is not the labour savings from replacing manual meter readings. The primary benefit is the ability to implement new applications such as time of use billing, demand response, outage management and remote connect/disconnect.
- How are utilities working to ensure maximum customer satisfaction with their demand response programs?
- Provision of ancillary services-displays, integration with smart appliances, in-home automation - should this be a competitive market for technology & service providers or delivered through the rate base by the utility?
To address the role of AMI in revenue management, we will hold an interactive session to identify how AMI can improve processes and company procedures in addressing revenue issues.
- What comes first MDM or AMI?
- AMI and cyber security
- AMI communication backbone- should utilities provide access to third party service providers?
We hope to see you at our annual seminar in November in Melbourne.
